Our Story: From Blindness to Creation

— The Birth of FUNACRYLIC

For years, I chased a version of "success" that wasn’t mine—high-paying jobs, stability, the usual markers of a "good life." But in that chase, I lost myself. A decade of relentless work piled on stress and left me blank when someone asked, "What do you love to do?" By the time I hit 30, I knew something had to change. Life shouldn’t just be about checking boxes for others.

Then came the turning point: economic shifts, career hiccups, and a quiet yearning for something real. One night, restless and worn out, I picked up some acrylic markers and started sketching. It wasn’t just doodling—it was a release. A way to unwind in my own space, on my own terms. Watching my daughter light up at my little creations, I rediscovered joy in those small, shared moments. That’s when I realized: creating something with my hands, at home, brought me a peace I couldn’t find anywhere else.

But as I dove deeper into the world of DIY, I hit a wall. The kits out there? Flimsy, one-and-done products that didn’t spark joy or fit my life. I didn’t want to trek to a craft store or studio—I wanted the freedom to create at home, in my own cozy environment, with materials I could reuse. I craved something practical, something that lasted, something that felt like me. And I figured I couldn’t be the only one.

That’s why I started FUNACRYLIC. This isn’t just a business—it’s my answer to a need I felt firsthand. I designed our DIY kits to be different: simple, creative, and made for real life. Think reusable canvas bags you can graffiti again and again, or T-shirts you personalize and wear with pride. Every kit is built to bring that “aha” moment of relaxation and discovery, right in your own home. It’s not about flashy trends—it’s about slowing down, making something meaningful, and keeping the materials handy for next time.

At FUNACRYLIC, I’m sharing what saved me: the power of creating in a space where you feel most yourself. We’re a small business with a big heart, here to inspire beginners and seasoned makers alike. Each product carries my belief that joy doesn’t need to be complicated—it’s in the brushstrokes, the laughter, the quiet pride of saying, “I made this.” Join me, and let’s turn your home into a canvas for life’s little wonders.
